View from the Reds camp:

“It should be a really entertaining game,” says Dermot Drummy.

“We’ll be looking to make amends for the result in the reverse fixture,” says captain Jimmy Smith.

The Opposition:

Paul Cook’s men are fourth in the table, 10 points behind top of the tree Doncaster Rovers.

Their first win of the season on the road came in a 1-0 success over Exeter City at the end of August, but they had to wait until the start of October to register a second victory on their travels, when they overcame Leyton Orient by the same score line.

Like the Reds, Portsmouth's home form has been strong during this season and they’ve lost just once at Fratton Park all season in all competitions.

We've Met before:

The reverse fixture between these two sides came at the start of September at Fratton Park where the Reds fell to their first away defeat of the season, losing 3-0 after conceding three goals in the opening period to Curtis Main (2) and Gary Roberts.

Today is our sixth League clash against Portsmouth. The two previous home games in September 2012 and August 2015 ended in a 3-0 defeat and 0-0 draw respectively. The first League meeting attracted a crowd of 5058 and the Sky TV cameras for a Sunday showdown which saw Reds’ Hope Akpan and Josh Simpson sent off by Darren Deadman. Pompey’s goalscorers included Izale McLeod, who went on to represent Crawley in 2014-15 when he scored 20 league and cup goals.

Reds won 2-1 on their first visit to Fratton Park on Boxing Day 2012 when Mat Sadler and Billy Clarke netted. On January 2 2015 we went down 3-0.
