Tom Nield will referee Saturday's game with Forest Green Rovers at the Checkatrade Stadium (3pm).
The match will be his first in charge of a game involving the Reds, with this season being his first in the EFL.
Mr Nield refereed in the National League throughout the previous two campaigns but has taken charge of 10 games so far this season - issuing 26 yellow cards and two reds.
He was the man in the middle on Tuesday evening for the Checkatrade Trophy game between Lincoln City and Notts County at Sincil Bank, as well as the Emirates FA Cup tie between Morecambe and Hartlepool United last weekend at the Globe Arena.
He will be assisted by Mr Matthew Lane and Mr Stephen Finch - the fourth official will be Mr Nigel Lugg.
