FIVE POINT PREVIEW | Portsmouth

Five things to look out for when the Reds travel to Fratton Park on Tuesday night

2 October 2017

Favourable Fratton...

The Reds only win over Portsmouth has come at Fratton Park.

It was on Boxing Day in 2012, and Crawley came back from 1-0 down to claim all three points, with Nicky Adams and Billy Clarke on target.

Feeney fortune...

Perhaps more optimism can be drawn from one of Assistant Coach Warren Feeney's recent visits to Fratton Park - back in March last year as Newport County AFC boss when the Northern Irishman oversaw an impressive 3-0 down on the south coast.

Break the duck...

The Reds have only ever scored twice against the south coast side, meaning they've fired five blanks.

Those two goals were from the Boxing Day win in 2012, so Crawley will be hoping to put an end to the five year wait for a goal against Portsmouth tomorrow evening.

Maiden meeting...

The game at Fratton Park will be the first time the two sides have met outside of the league and in a cup game.

Red Robinson...

Mr Tim Robinson is set to take charge of the contest, and he has been rather card happy already this season.

Robinson has officiated 14 games and issued seven red cards and 41 yellows - that's a sending off every two games.

The Reds will have to be on their best behaviour down on the coast...
