Dean: Let's build on good result

Defender looking forward to Coventry test

Dean Leacock says the players are relishing Saturday's trip to the Ricoh Arena as they look to build on Saturday's excellent 2-0 win over Yeovil.

Reds dropped a place to 13th in the League One standings as a result of Notts County's win at Crewe on Tuesday night.

But three points on Saturday could lift us as high as seventh and Dean says the boys are full of confidence ahead of a tough test against Coventry City.

He said: "A win and a good performance like Saturday can make a massive difference. There are always certain games in the season which you look back on as possible turning points and hopefully Yeovil was one for us in a positive way.

"We kept a good clean sheet and obviously Marvin (Elliott) has come up with two great goals which is typical of him and the way he plays. I know Marv well and have played against him many times and he definitely has that ability in his locker.

"I thought we looked nice and solid but to be fair we have done for most of the season. We've not always converted the chances we have created but we did against Yeovil and if we get that part of our game going in the right direction I think we can be a handful for most sides in this league."

Reds have a mixed record against Coventry. They have won both home meetings with Steven Pressley's side but lost 3-1 two years ago on their only previous trip to the Ricoh before drawing 2-2 in January at Northampton where Coventry were playing during their season-long exile, coming from 2-0 down thanks to goals from Andy Drury and Jamie Proctor.

Although the Ricoh won't be anywhere near its 30,000+ capacity on Saturday it is still the best venue Reds will play in this season.

Dean added: "It's a good place to play but, for us players, that doesn't mean a lot to be honest. It's all about us going there, doing our jobs and getting a result. We all feel Saturday can be a springboard for us to really kick on and we are looking forward to going there and giving a good account of ourselves."
