Crawley Town boss on cup tie against Cambridge United

Manager John Gregory is expecting one of Reds' toughest tests so far this season when we take on League 2 Cambridge United in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tonight.

The U's come to the Checkatrade.com Stadium on the back of a 5-0 win over Carlisle on Saturday and are fresh from two Wembley appearances last season when they won the FA Trophy and got promoted back to the League via the Conference play-offs.

The boss said: "Richard Money has done a great job there. They are a good club and it wouldn't surprise me to see them challenging for another promotion this season.

"As for us, we've had a frustrating time since our last home game. I think we've deserved to get a result in our last three games but that is irrelevant really - it's all about results and there's no doubt we need one tonight. I appreciate that and the players certainly do."

With Joe Walsh and Gwion Edwards away with Wales U-21s and Bobson Bawling and Josh Simpson injured, the boss will have to make changes tonight without necessarily weakening the team.

He added: "Virtually everyone in the squad has has experience this season of playing games so we've got some good players who will come in and hopefully prove a point with their performance and say to me 'you must pick me on Saturday.'

"The League is our priority but this competition is a route to Wembley. What a fantastic achievement that would be to have Crawley Town playing at Wembley Stadium. It is going to happen to two clubs at our level so why shouldn't it be us?'

Remember, admission prices tonight have been slashed with adult tickets £10 and U-18s £1. For more details click here.
