Mat Sadler back with Crawley Town

11 September 2014

Defender back on month's loan

The club are pleased to confirm that defender Mat Sadler has re-joined Crawley Town on a one-month emergency loan.

The paperwork was completed this afternoon enabling the 29-year-old to be available for selection on Saturday, when Reds are at home to Fleetwood Town.

Mat left the club in June and signed for Championship side Rotherham United and has made one appearance so far for Steve Evans' men this season in the Capital One Cup against Swansea City.

During two seasons with Crawley, Mat played every League game for the club and a total of 103 appearances after he was signed in June 2012.

Manager John Gregory said: "We're delighted to get Mat back here and I must thank Steve Evans for allowing him to come down to us and get some games under his belt.

"The personnel will have changed a lot since last season of course, but Mat knows the club inside out and he will bring us real experience of League One level."

"With Mat, Keith Keane and Josh Wright arriving this week and Joe (Walsh) and Gwion (Edwards) back for Saturday we have some real options in terms of selection for the Fleetwood game.

"I'm sure our fans will be delighted to see Mat back. He was a very popular player here."

Mat will have squad number 26.
