Opposition Dugout:

Morecambe’s strong start to the 2016/17 season saw manager Jim Bentley pick up the Manager of the Month award for August.

After losing their opening day game 2-0 to Grimsby Town, they picked up three wins in a week over Blackpool, Portsmouth and Yeovil. It was a run of form that left them at the top of the table at a time when Crawley were in second place, just one point behind Jim Bentley’s men.

Since then, wins at Accrington Stanley and Cambridge United have come either side of three successive losses in EFL Two.

Before Saturday’s game, the side find themselves in fourth position on 13 points.

Last Time We Met:

The Reds last faced Morecambe in March this year, where the sides played out a 1-1 draw in RH11. Former Crawley loanee Shaun Miller had given the visiting side the lead, before a late Matt Harrold equaliser secured a point for the Reds.

The previous encounter between the two teams saw the Lancashire side defeat Mark Yates’ men 3-1 last October. Rhys Murphy was on the scoresheet that day but his strike wasn’t enough to earn the Reds anything from their trip north.
