The Opposition

The Robins are back in the Football League after bouncing back from non-league at the first time of asking. Last season saw Gary Johnson’s men run away with the Vanarama Conference title – they finished the season on 101 points, scoring the most goals and conceding the least.

This term they have won just one league game – that was a 2-0 home win over Crewe Alexandra at the end of August. Their last two games on home soil have ended in 0-0 and 1-1 draws against Stevenage and Luton Town respectively.

We’ve Met Before

The sides met in their current division in the 2011/12 season where the two contests produced ten goals. A 3-1 win for the Robins over Crawley in August saw the Reds’ 34 match unbeaten run come to an end.

Goals from Kai Mohamed, Marlon Pack and Jeff Goulding in the first half gave the Reds a mountain to climb, despite Matt Tubbs’ second half penalty.

The return fixture was an emphatic 4-2 win for Steve Evans’ men – it was a win that sent the side to the top of League Two.

More recently, a League Cup fixture ended in a 4-3 win for Cheltenham Town at the beginning of the 2013/14 season.
