Connolly buoyant after fourth successive home win

Mark Connolly says that the atmosphere inside the Checkatrade Stadium on Saturday took him back to his first spell with Reds in League One.

Speaking after the hard fought 1-0 win over Hartlepool in front of a 4,266 crowd, the defender enthused about the bumper crowd and the positive effect it had on the team.

"It felt like the first time I was back here with that crowd and the noise," he told Reds Player HD.

"When we used to get some of the so called bigger teams down here it used to be like that every week.

"Even little things like when we go round and clap the fans, we don't just do that for show we really appreciate their support."

The win over Pools made it four successive home wins for Dermot Drummy's men.

"We fancy ourselves against anyone here.

"That's because our home form this season has been superb and now we can look forward to another game here next Saturday against Portsmouth."
