Boss gives his verdict on 3-1 win

Manager Richie Barker enjoyed an impressive Reds' performance at the Broadfield on Tuesday as a 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth lifted his side into third place in League One.

Crawley were the only home winners in the division after goals from Hope Akpan, Joe Walsh and Nicky Adams sealed an ultimately comfortable victory.

And the boss was even claiming a light-hearted 'assist' for the second goal just before half-time!

He said: "Mike Jones was going to take the free kick but on a night like that when defenders hate the ball coming in under the bar I made Mat Sadler whip it in and Joe got a great header.

"At times I thought we played very well. Our best spell coincided with the third goal, which was a wonderful team goal, and we might even have scored one or two more."

Richie also praised the resilience shown by our back four, particularly in the second half, when Claude Davis had to go off and we had three 20-year-olds in the defence.

"There were times when Bournemouth had possession but I don't remember Paul Jones having to make too many saves. They had a go as you'd expect at 2-1 but we got the third and that settled us down a bit."

A full interview with Richie and reaction from Nicky Adams and Joe Walsh will be on Reds Player soon.
