Hope Akpan comes back in for Dannie Bulman

Richie Barker made one change to the side that beat Preston North End so impressively on Saturday.

Hope Akpan, suspended for the game at the weekend, came back into the side for Dannie Bulman to partner Shaun Cooper in midfield.

Josh Simpson, who was also suspended on Saturday, was named among the substitutes.

That meant Mark Connolly kept his place alongside Kyle McFadzean at the heart of the defence.

For Colchester, there were two changes as Clinton Morrison and Anthony Wordsworth came in following their 2-1 defeat to Doncaster on Saturday.

Reds: Jones; Hunt, McFadzean, Connolly, Sadler; Adams, Akpan, Cooper, M.Jones; Ajose, Alexander (c). Subs: Clarke, Simpson, Forte, Walsh, Bulman, Wassmer, Kuipers.

Colchester: Cousins; Rose, Okuonghae, Eastman, Wilson; Izzet, Bean, Wordsworth; Henderson, Morrison, Massey. Subs: Pentney, Heath, Duguid, O'Toole, Sears, Bond, White.
