Kicks programme gets £1,000 boost

20 November 2014

CTSA make generous donation

Last Friday the Crawley Town Supporters’ Alliance joined CTFC Community at the Kicks Programme, being run in Bewbush, to present Community Manager Birtug Kazim with a cheque for £1000 to help towards running the programme.

Friday also saw the return of fans’ favourite Sergio Torres. Sergio was co-opted by the CTSA Board as a goodwill ambassador to help promote community initiatives. Sergio said: “I’m very happy to be part of this amazing project to help kids – it was a great evening.”

Also in attendance was Henry Smith MP who has been very supportive of the CTSA and Crawley Town’s community’s work in the local area.

Kicks is a programme that has been introduced this season and Birt said: “We were delighted to welcome Henry and Sergio Torres to Kicks on a bitterly cold Friday night. We’d like to thank the CTSA for their continued support this season and contribution to our community work and to initiatives in and around Crawley. The fact that Bewbush Kicks is in the heart of Crawley really demonstrates the impact we are making together for a better Crawley and, in this case, a better future for young people.

“It’s this very support both locally and nationally that enables us to help provide social change through the power of football and by using the football club’s brand.

"Our contributions to community safety through Kicks, as well as our work in themes like health and wellbeing, inclusion, education and enterprise, volunteering, training and employment and regeneration can only be achieved by having a network of partners and people who really care. Crawley Town Community Foundation would like to thank our partners in making this happen.”

We would also like to thank www.tesco.com for providing fresh fruit for the evening, which was very much appreciated and well received by everyone.

The CTSA will be organising future fundraising events during the season to enable us to support the programme even further. Joe Comper, CTSA Community Officer, and the rest of the CTSA Board are always looking for fundraising ideas so, if you would like to help, please contact us at chair@ctfcsa.co.uk or community@ctfcsa.co.uk
