A look ahead to Saturday's final game of the season
Dermot Drummy takes charge of the Reds in front of a home crowd for the first time on Saturday afternoon with Barnet the visitors to the Checkatrade.com Stadium.
The contest will be Crawley’s last of the season and the first chance home fans will get to see their new boss and his assistant Matt Gray in the home dugout.
Last time out the Reds lost 3-0 at Dagenham and the manager will no doubt be looking for a response from his side.
TEAM NEWS
Gwion Edwards (ankle) and Lanre Oyebanjo (knee) should be fit. Jon Ashton (knee) is doubtful whilst Matt Harold (knee) is still out and Andy Bond is suspended.
OPPOSITION FOCUS
Barnet occupy 15th place in League Two at the end of their first season back in the division since being relegated in the 2012-13 campaign. A five match unbeaten run in October was followed by a drop in form the following month, where Martin Allen’s side went five game without a victory in the lead up to the festive period.
Their home form is impressive and no doubt a big contributing factor to their steady position in the table – with back-to-back wins against fellow high-flyers Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth chalked up already this year.
PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS: WE’VE MET BEFORE7
Last time the two sides met it was Barnet who ran out 4-2 winners at the Hive in December. Bira Dembele’s double handed the hosts a two goal advantage, before a quick-fire double from Mitch Hancox and Jimmy Smith pulled Mark Yates’ side back on level terms.
However, the Bees had a late sting in the tail and John Akinde’s spot-kick followed by an own goal from Crawley’s Lewis Young were enough to give the home side the points in an entertaining encounter.
