Conor signs new deal

Midfielder agrees six-month contract

We’re delighted to confirm that Conor Henderson has today signed a new six-month contract with the club.

The former Arsenal and Hull City midfielder joined Reds last June but his first season with Crawley Town was badly affected by an ankle injury which he suffered in January and which restricted him to 23 appearances in league and cup. He also scored two goals, including the winner against Walsall last October.

The 23-year-old said: “I had a very good meeting with the new manager (Mark Yates) and I’m pleased to have signed my new contract.

“It gives me the opportunity to hit the ground running in pre-season and hopefully impress the manager enough to get another one.

“It’s been a frustrating few months with the injury but I am 100% fit now and have done a couple of sessions with (new physio) Paul Wilson to test the ankle out and it’s fine.

“I can’t wait for July 1 and the start of pre-season and hopefully I can kick on from there and show the manager and the fans what I can bring.”

Mark Yates said: “This is a fresh start for Conor. I have been him quite a few times and I know he has a lot of ability and he has the chance now to show what he’s about. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
