Sonny: Positive mood in the camp

Defender reflects on Saturday and looks ahead to Bradford

Man of the match Sonny Bradley admits Reds were disappointed they couldn’t see out Saturday’s game against Sheffield United.

But the defender says the mood is still positive in the squad ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Bradford City after the 1-1 draw against the Blades made it seven points out from our last three games.

Sonny said: “I guess before the game we might have thought a point was a good result against one of the best sides in the division but we’re disappointed we couldn’t hang on to all three.

“I thought we defended well for most of the game and the gaffer is right – the goal we conceded came about from a simple clearance by their keeper.”

Sonny has formed a solid partnership in central defence with loanee Richard Wood, who scored his first goal for the club to give Reds the lead.

“Woody really helps me because of his experience and he’s made a big difference in the two games he’s been here. To be fair the delivery from Ant (Wordsworth) for his goal was brilliant. We all love to attack balls of that quality into the box because they are so difficult to defend.

“It’s a shame we couldn’t see the game through but as soon as it was over we started thinking about tomorrow night at Bradford. That won’t be easy but there’s a great spirit in the camp at the moment and we’re all confident we can climb the table.”
