Recruiting now for NVQ Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Sports

After the successful launch and first year of Crawley Town Community Foundation’s education scholarship based at the Checkatrade.com Stadium, we are now recruiting for 2015-16 (starting in September 2015).

The Scholarship is a two-year full-time NVQ Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport - equivalent to three A Levels.

There will be further opportunities to study other sport-related courses as well as play futsal for Crawley Town FC against other Football League clubs.

Learners will receive eight hours of education per week and up to eight hours of Futsal, including training and fixtures.

This course particularly suits those wanting to enter employment in the sport and active leisure sector such as sports coaches, instructors and leaders, for those wishing to progress to higher education to study a sport-related degree such as Sports Development and Sports Science or indeed travel to USA and work within the sports industry.

16-year-old Crawley girl Keyannea Barrett, said: “I enjoy the coursework, it’s really interesting. I get involved with the football sometimes as well, it’s cool to show the boys a trick or two!”

Dan Fairrell, 17 and from Redhill, said: “It’s been an amazing experience so far and to be a part of the programme with Crawley Town FC is an honour. I really love working with my fellow students, teacher and coaches.”

This is an innovative and exciting programme for 16-19 years old to gain a first class education and be involved in a professional programme.
