Come and watch Reds for free if you are in the Armed Forces

Crawley Town FC are pleased to welcome serving members of the armed forces to the Checkatrade.com Stadium to attend a home game.

Providing you give proof of identity in the form of your services' ID card you can claim a complimentary ticket for any home League fixture at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

We are donating 50 tickets per game as part of the Tickets For Troops, the military charity that gives complimentary tickets to members of HM Armed Forces.

The scheme was officially launched last week by chairman Dave Pottinger and Crawley MP Henry Smith before the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Gillingham.

Mr Smith said: "I am delighted that Crawley Town, on behalf of the whole community, are saying thank you to our Armed Forces, by signing up to the Tickets for Troops scheme.

"Our town’s football club are the first organisation in Crawley to commit to offering free tickets to members of our Armed Forces, and those who have been medically discharged since 2001.

"Since I approached the club about joining this initiative a number of weeks ago, I have been struck by the enthusiasm and engagement from everyone that my office and I have spoken with.

"I would like to offer my personal thanks to Michael Dunford, Sue Benn, Bruce Talbot, Matt Turner and Sophie Harding and my apologies to anyone I may not have mentioned. Their hard work and dedication has ensured the club signed up to this scheme.

"Additionally, I am grateful to Veronica, Robert and Alex from Tickets for Troops, as well as Darren from my own office, for their continued involvement.

"We are all aware of the added poignancy of Remembrance Sunday this year, as the commemorations follow the centenary of the start of the First World War. Every community in the United

Kingdom went on to be affected by the loss of those who fought, including the then small town of Crawley, and surrounding villages such as Worth and Three Bridges.

"We will not forget the sacrifices made by those from our town, whose service includes the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment and the Prince of Wales’s Company, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards.

It is so important, as a town and as a country, for us all to remember the sacrifices of those who put themselves in the line of fire to ensure our freedoms are ensured. Crawley Town Football Club represent the whole town by saying thank you to our troops.

"We will never forget, we will always be thankful."
