Reds boss Steve Evans said he is resigned to the fact that young red hot striker Charlie Ademeno will leave The Broadfield Stadium to join a Football League Club possibly as early as this week.

Ademeno produced a superb performance in front of a number of watching football league clubs and his manager is not holding out much hope that he will retain his services for much longer.

A transfer deadline day move for the gifted youngster only fell through when the last minute deal failed to beat the 5pm transfer deadline.

Speaking on Monday morning the Gaffer said; “I must admit I do not hold out much hope that Charlie will be with us for Saturday’s home match with Altrincham especially given his performance against Cambridge United and considering the talent the boy has.

“As a manager who has his team fighting for the playoffs then I obviously want him here with us for the remainder of the season but even I have to accept that perhaps his outstanding performances have taken this out of my hands.

“I took a couple of telephone calls on Sunday in relation to the boy and two further Football League clubs have been on the phone this morning so things are starting to progress to the point where I can see him moving on sooner rather than later, he is a special talent.

“There is no doubt Charlie will play at a much higher level, he has blistering pace, great feet and scores goals, those ingredients are sought after. It would be fair to say we are in talks regarding Charlie with two specific clubs whilst two others have requested they be kept in touch with any developments.”
