Midfielder raring to go against Port Vale

Reds embark on another month containing nine league fixtures tonight.

It's a schedule that is as tough as March was but you won't hear midfielder Sergio Torres complaining.

The Argentinian started back to back league games for the first time this season against Sheffield United and Preston and is desperate to keep his place at Vale Park against Port Vale tonight.

He said: "It has been a frustrating season for me because I have obviously not played as many games as I would have liked.

"But it was great to be back last Tuesday against Sheffield United and to keep my place on Saturday. We have a lot of games again this month and I want to play as many of them as I can if the manager picks me. I know some of the boys are feeling it a bit after so many games but I'm fine - I'd play every day if the Gaffer asked me."

Sergio admitted Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Preston was a frustrating experience for all concerned.

"We had some good chances. I had a couple of shots, MJ as well and Billy (Clarke) had a good opportunity in the second half. In the tight games you have to take these and hopefully we will do that on Tuesday against Port Vale.

"We have ten games left and we have regrouped since Saturday. We don't want the season to end badly. We want to win every game and as we showed against Wolves we have it in us to beat any side in this division. We need to get back to that sort of form starting on Tuesday and the boys are all determined to get a good result."
