Reds fans clock up the most miles in Sky Bet League 1

Crawley Town fans clock up more miles following their club than any other team in Sky Bet League 1, a survey reveals.

The survey, commissioned by Football League sponsor Sky Bet, found that on average each Red Devils fan travels 2,100 miles every season.

They cover 156 miles more than second place Wolverhampton Wanderers fans, and 186 more miles than Port Vale fans.

Crawley Town Manager John Gregory said: “We might not have the biggest fan base in the country, but our supporters are as passionate as any set of fans about their club.

“They have had to travel some tremendous distances to support their team but have done so week in, week out and whether it’s Saturday or midweek.

“I’d just like to say that their efforts are appreciated and we look forward to them continuing their fantastic backing for the team in the future.”

Sky Bet Head of Sponsorship Edwin Martin said: “The fans’ commitment to the cause is outstanding.

“Travelling over 2000 miles each season to follow your team is a fantastic effort and one that Crawley Town fans should be very proud of.”
