VIEW FROM INSIDE THE CAMP
John Gregory: "They are in and around us in the table so it's a very important game. Christmas is a crucial period in the calendar and we need to get back to winning ways. At home on Saturday we have to do our utmost to make it happen."
Rob Page (Port Vale manager): "After losing last week (to Coventry) we need to go down there and get a result. Crawley are hard to beat but if we are at our best we can certainly get something out of the game."
WE’VE MET BEFORE?
This is the fifth meeting between the teams. The sides drew 2-2 in August 2011 when Reds played their first League game at Vale Park. Later in the season, Reds won 3-2 at home. Last season Vale did the double over Reds, winning 3-0 at the Checkatrade.com Stadium and 2-1 at Vale Park when Billy Clarke put Crawley in front with a penalty.
