Strong side set for cup tie

Reds bid for place in quarter-finals of Sussex Senior Cup tonight

John Gregory says it will be a strong side that takes on County League Eastbourne United Association tonight (Wednesday) in the third round of the Sussex Senior Cup, kick off 7.30pm.

With no game until December 13 it will give several members of the squad the opportunity to get 90 minutes under their belt and the boss has hinted that loan striker Shaun Miller could make his debut.

John said: “We had a strong bench on Saturday and all those lads will get some game time. For players like Shaun, Marvin Elliott, Conor Henderson it will be important to get 90 competitive minutes under their belt.”

The game takes place at the Checkatrade.com Stadium, a decision that pleased the boss.

“Very much so,” he added. “The pitch is in superb condition and I’m sure the Eastbourne boys will enjoy playing on it as well.

“Like we did St Francis in the last round, we will respect the opposition but it’s an important competition for the club and we’re looking to progress.”

The AJD Group West Stand will be open for this fixture. Admission is £5 adults and £1 concessions. Pay cash on the turnstiles.

Redz Bar will be open before and after the game.
