Michael Dunford on pitch problems and ticket offers

Dear Supporter,

It has been a trying few weeks for everyone connected with your club.

As you are aware, we have only played one home game since December 29 because of a combination of the condition of our pitch and the exceptionally wet weather.

We all know that historically our pitch is a problem, not helped by the wettest winter since records began, and we accept that we must improve the main areas of concern on the pitch during the summer to give our players a surface that reflects our status as a League One club.

Having consulted with pitch experts, and in conjunction with our landlords Crawley Borough Council, we are starting a two-day programme at the end of this week, which we are confident will improve the poor areas of the surface, and allow the club to stage games as scheduled between now and the end of the season.

We recognise that calling off the Tranmere match on Tuesday so close to kick off has been an inconvenience to everyone, not least our supporters, and as a gesture of goodwill the board of directors have decided to offer the following:

All Crawley Town FC season ticket holders will be allowed a free additional ticket for the games against Tranmere (April 15) and Carlisle (April 29). Use voucher F for Tranmere and G for Carlisle when you come to the ticket office with your season-ticket book to claim your ticket.

Anyone who pre-bought a ticket for either Carlisle or Tranmere can also claim a free additional ticket for either game. If you are unable to attend on the re-arranged date we will exchange the ticket for another of our remaining home fixtures (with the exception of Wolves). Please bring your original match ticket with you to the ticket office.

As always, I am more than happy to meet any of our supporters to discuss any aspect of the club we all feel passionately about. Please email suebenn@crawleytownfc.com to book an appointment.

Thanks for your continued support and understanding, and we hope to see you at the Peterborough game on Saturday, March 1.

Michael Dunford, Chief Executive
