Nicky Adams leaves Reds

31 January 2014

Midfielder signs for Rotherham

The club can confirm that Nicky Adams is leaving the club to join Rotherham United.

Adams is moving to the New York Stadium on a two-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Nicky played 82 games for the club after joining us in May 2012, scoring 13 goals.

Chief Executive Michael Dunford said: “Nicky’s contract expires at the end of the season when he could have left the club for nothing.

“He expressed a desire to move back up north to be with his wife and young family and that has been a big factor in us giving him permission to talk to Rotherham and him deciding to go there.

“We’re disappointed because Nicky has been a good player for us during his time here but we wish him all the best.

“So we move on and John Gregory will continue to work hard today and when the loan window opens to strengthen the squad if he feels it’s necessary.”
