9 July 2014

Community Sports Foundation lead multi-sport session for local youngsters

As part of the Big Brownie Birthday Challenge to celebrate 100 years of Brownies, Crawley Town FC Community Sports Foundation welcomed Brownies from 3rd Three Bridges and 1st Broadfield to the Stadium.

The Big Brownie Birthday Challenge is a specially created programme of activities that enables the Brownies to make their own decisions, learn new skills and have fun.

To complete the challenge, and gain their badge, the Brownies need to complete a series of adventurous and creative challenges, each linked to a milestone year in the history of Brownies. One of the challenges is for the Brownies is to find out more about their local area by exploring somewhere new.

For most of the girls a visit to the Stadium would be somewhere that they hadn’t experienced before.

The group of 25 brownies were split into two groups experiencing a behind the scenes tour around the Stadium and a multi-sport session led by coaches from the Community Sports Foundation.

All the girls enjoyed their visit to Crawley Town FC and time with the Community Sports Foundation staff with many looking forward to visiting during the season.
