Andy Drury leaves

30 June 2014

Midfielder signs for Luton Town

The club can confirm that midfielder Andy Drury has today joined League Two Luton Town on a two-year contract for a fee of £100,000.

Chief Executive Michael Dunford said: “When Andy joined us a year ago on a two-year contract he insisted on a clause in his contract whereby any club prepared to meet our valuation of him they would have permission to talk to him.

“Luton have met that valuation and Andy has decided to go back there.

“What I will stress is that the money received will all go back into strengthening the squad. John Gregory and the board are working hard on bringing in further new faces to add to the nine we have already signed this summer.

“In the meantime, we wish Andy all the best and thank him for his services to the club.”

The 30-year-old joined Reds for a loan spell under Steve Evans in September 2011 and played 15 times, scoring four goals. After he was released by Ipswich a year ago he joined Reds and made 46 further appearances and scored five goals.
