Players who have represented Crawley and our cup opponents

There have been quite a few players that have represented both the Reds and our Capital One Cup First Round opponents Ipswich Town.

Billy Clarke started off his career at Ipswich as a trainee in 2005 and made 23 starts for The Tractor Boys and scored four goals. He left Ipswich in 2009 to join Blackpool before signing for Crawley in 2012. Billy went on to make 80 starts for the Reds in all competitions scoring 24 goals before leaving the club at the end of last season.

Tom Eastman joined Ipswich in the summer of 2009 and went on to make 12 appearances. He had a short one month loan at Crawley in 2011, making six appearances. He now plays for home town club Colchester United.

Crawley signed Tyrone Barnett from Macclesfield in the summer of 2011 and he went on to make 32 starts for Reds scoring 15 goals. Barnett was then signed by Peterborough United for a fee of £1.2m before going out on loan to Ipswich where he made only two appearances due to a troublesome injury. Tyrone spent part of last season on loan at Bristol City from Peterborough.

Rory Fallon had a short two month loan spell with Ipswich during the 2010 Christmas period making four starts and scoring one goal. Crawley signed Fallon on a free in February 2014 after the New Zealand international left St Johnstone. Fallon went on to make three starts for the Reds but failed to score before being released in May 2014.

Shane O’Connor joined Ipswich in the summer of 2009 going on to make 17 appearances. He then had a trial at Crawley at the start of the 2011-2012 but rejected a six-month loan deal at the Reds. He is now a free agent after leaving Shamrock Rovers in his native Ireland.

Jamie Stevens joined Crawley from Boston United in 2007 and went on to make 49 appearances, scoring twice. Stevens spent time on trial with Championship side Ipswich in January 2008 but a deal could not be reached between the two clubs and he returned to Crawley. In 2008 he agreed a deal to stay with the West Sussex club for the season but soon left to join Northwich Victoria on a free transfer. He’s since played for Farnborough and is currently back playing in his home town of Holbeach.
