Defender Bradley joins Reds

Crawley Town are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Sonny Bradley from Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has penned a two-year contract with Reds, who fought off interest from Championship clubs for his signature.

Sonny was born in Hull, started his career at his hometown club and was with the Tigers since the age of seven, but only made two appearances.

Sonny had short loan spells at Harrogate Town and IK Frej in the Swedish first division before playing 56 League games for Aldershot in two separate spells.

After his release from Hull Bradley signed a two-year deal with Portsmouth last summer making 34 appearances and scoring twice. Although he played some games for Pompey at left back most of his matches were in central defence.

Sonny has been allocated squad number 4 for the 2014-15 campaign and is our fifth summer signing.

Manager John Gregory said: "Sonny is a commanding defender and someone I have been targeting for some time. We have good depth in our central defensive positions now but Sonny will be challenging the others for a regular place. There was a lot of interest in him, I'm delighted to have signed him."

Check back soon for an interview with our new signing.
