All you need to know about Tuesday's game

Reds head to the Potteries on Tuesday night to open April with a tough test against Port Vale, kick off 7.45pm.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Referee: Nigel Miller

Assistants: Peter Gooch and David Plowright

Fourth Official: Rob Lewis

TEAM NEWS

Reds hope to have Matt Tubbs and Paul Connolly available after they missed the defeat at Preston on Saturday with injury. Kyle McFadzean completes a two-match suspension.

Top scorer Tom Pope is now Vale's deputy goalkeeper after Chris Neal sustained ankle ligament damage ten days ago and the club were unable to sign another goalkeeper having been placed under a transfer embargo.

VIEW FROM INSIDE THE CAMP

John Gregory: “Port Vale are a strong outfit at home but they do try and play and they have a very big pitch up there which I think will suit us. You know what you are going to get with Micky (Adams)' teams so it's going to be another difficult game for us."

Micky Adams (Port Vale manager): “After losing 5-0 at Bristol City last Tuesday we got a good point at Stevenage on Saturday and we certainly feel good about ourselves again."

WE’VE MET BEFORE

Reds' first game in the Football League was a 2-2 draw at Vale Park in August 2011. Reds beat Vale 3-2 in March 2012 but this season's reverse fixture saw Vale win 3-0 at the Broadfield Stadium.

FORM GUIDE

Reds have lost their last three and are without an away win in the league since February 25. Vale have won three and drawn three of their last 13 games.
