A look ahead to Saturday's League One action

Reds make their second visit to Deepdale on Saturday to face play-off chasing Preston North End.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Referee: David Webb

Assistants: Richard Bartlett and Matthew Parry

Fourth Official: Ricky Wootton

TEAM NEWS

Reds hope to have Josh Simpson back after he missed the midweek defeat to Sheffield United with a hamstring problem. Kyle McFadzean starts a two-match suspension while new signings Gwion Edwards and Jeffrey Monakana are both in the squad.

Scott Wiseman faces a late fitness test but fellow defender Tom Clarke should be fit for the hosts and Josh Brownhill could also return following a groin problem.

VIEW FROM INSIDE THE CAMP

John Gregory: “I know (Preston manager) Simon Grayson very well. He was a top professional and I’m not surprised to see him doing so well in management. They are a very good side and Simon will still feel they can push for automatic promotion. We have four tough away games to come out of the next five and this is probably going to be the toughest.

Simon Grayson (Preston manager): “John has done a good job there. They are obviously playing catch-up but will still harbour thoughts of getting into the play-offs but it’s about what we do which is trying to build on a very good result on Tuesday against Peterborough.”

WE’VE MET BEFORE

Three games between the clubs and Reds have yet to lose. Last season, a brace from Gary Alexander sealed a 2-1 win at Deepdale and Mike Jones was the match winner when we met in April 2013. JG took charge of Reds in a league game for the first time in December when we came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 thanks to goals from Joe Walsh and Alexander.

FORM GUIDE

Reds have lost just three of their last 12 league games while Preston have only lost one of their last 14 in the league and haven’t been beaten at Deepdale in League One since December 21.
