A look ahead to Tuesday's game

Reds make the trip to Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday for their latest Sky Bet League one fixture, kick off 7.45pm

Referee: Paul Tierney

Assistants: Joe Clark and Robert Merchant

Fourth Official: Marvyn Amphlett

TEAM NEWS

Reds welcome back midfielder Josh Simpson, who missed Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Gillingham because his wife was giving birth.

Shrewsbury striker Tom Eaves, who scored a hat-trick when the sides last met at Greenhous Meadow on Easter Monday, is ruled out with a hamstring problem.

VIEW FROM INSIDE THE CAMP

John Gregory: “We were disappointed not to come away from Saturday’s game without anything and we are looking to put that right on Tuesday. Shrewsbury will look on this as a game they can win so we know it’s going to be extremely tough. We will need to be at our best up there.”

Michael Jackson (Shrewsbury manager): “We are four points from safety but it is in our own hands. We have got Crawley on Tuesday and we have got eight of the sides in the bottom half still to play, so there’s still plenty of points to play for.”

WE’VE MET BEFORE

The sides have met on five previous occasions. At Crawley, Reds won the first meeting 3-1 in 2011 and last season we drew 2-2 while the fixture in September finished 1-1 with Andy Drury scoring his first goal of the season to equalise after Billy Clarke missed a penalty.

At Shrewsbury, the hosts have won both previous meetings. In 2012 they triumphed 2-1 after John Akinde had scored his only goal for Reds to put us in front while Tom Eaves’ second-half hat-trick sentenced Reds to a 3-0 defeat last April.
