Early Bird deadline.... FOUR days to go

27 May 2014

Roger and Jacob renew - and meet the Gaffer!

Reds' fans Roger Batchelor and Jacob Whicker, who both sit in the AJD Group West Stand, have renewed their season tickets with four days to go until the Early Bird deadline.

Roger explains his reasons for renewing his season ticket for another campaign: “This will be my seventh season as a Red and the club have come a long way in the last six years, especially with the FA Cup journeys and the two promotions. It's a fantastic club and I enjoy watching Crawley play.”

Jacob added: “I'll be in my fifth season supporting Crawley. I really enjoy watching the games and hopefully next season we can see some more great goals from the team. I'd be happy with mid-table but it's nice to think about maybe getting to the Championship.”

“My favourite player is Matt Tubbs because he can score free kicks and goals from either inside or outside the box. I hope we can bring him back.”

Roger and Jacob had a chat with manager John Gregory when they came in on Tuesday to renew their season tickets.

“I hold John Gregory in the highest regard”, Roger said. “John's come in half way through last season and he's done really well with the pitch situation considering we had about six games in hand on a number of teams and we fell further down the league because we weren't playing. He pulled us up and they all worked really hard to get us to 14th. I'm already looking forward to the new season.

“Next season I'd be happy with us consolidating but I'm sure John's already working hard on getting players in to finish in the play-off positions. I don't think we'll go down and with the new pitch in place the problems we faced last season should be alleviated.

“It's going to be an exciting season and hopefully we can sell some more season tickets to see the fan base continue to grow. The fans here have always been very good and supportive to the players.”
