Support Missing People's campaign to help save vulnerable children

The charity Missing People is calling for Crawley residents to help save vulnerable children, by signing up to the Big Tweet for Missing Children and the Child Rescue Alert (CRA) system at County Mall on Saturday 24 May from 12noon.

This event comes the day before Missing People will tweet an appeal for a missing child every 30 minutes for 24 hours using the hashtag #TheBigTweet. Crawley Town fully support Missing People and the Child Rescue Alert system, which texts and emails registered members when a vulnerable child goes missing in their area, is set to be fully operational on 25 May.

A staggering 140,000 children go missing in the UK every year – the Big Tweet will harness the power of Twitter to help find missing children.

Barb Robinson, Local Team Leader for Missing People and a stalwart Crawley Town FC fan, said: “The Big Tweet is a brilliant way to raise awareness of missing children, and should help reunite many children with their families. Last year 2 children were found as a result of the Big Tweet!”

Commercial Manager Ewan Dunlop added “We’re very proud to support Missing People and welcome the opportunity to get our football fans involved in the Big Tweet”.

For more information or to help on the day, contact Josie Allan on 07595 200646 or email barbara.robinson@missingpeople.org.uk.

You can help support this amazing charity too by texting HOPE to 70707 now and give £3 to Missing People. Your gift could help bring a missing child home.
