Crystal Palace goalkeeper joins on loan until December 21

The club are delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Lewis Price has signed on emergency loan until December 21 from Premier League Crystal Palace.

The 30-year-old trained with his new team-mates for the first time today and will be in contention for Saturday’s SkyBet League One game against Scunthorpe United at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Lewis has made more than 100 League appearances since making his debut for his first club Ipswich Town in 2004.

The 6ft 3in keeper made 75 appearances for the Portman Road club and also went on loan to Cambridge United before joining Derby County in 2007.

During his time with the Rams he went on loan to Luton, MK Dons and Brentford before joining Crystal Palace in 2010.

At the end of last season Lewis played five games on loan for Mansfield Town.

Lewis has also played 11 full internationals for Wales, the most recent in 2012.

He said: “I’m delighted to be here. I have played here before in friendlies for Palace and I know quite a few of the lads from various other clubs so that’s helped me settle in.

“It’s tough at Palace with Jules (Julian Speroni) and Wayne Hennessey, who are two outstanding goalkeepers, there. I need to go and get games and this is a fantastic opportunity for me and one I am really looking forward to.”

Look out for an interview with Lewis shortly on our YouTube channel and Reds Player.
