Four back in contention for Saturday

16 October 2014

John Gregory with the latest ahead of Saturday's game at Notts County

We caught up with John Gregory after training today as the squad prepared for Saturday's trip to Notts County.

MOOD IN THE CAMP
"It's very upbeat. It would be easy for me to make that up after a home defeat but training this week has been really outstanding.
"There has been a really positive reaction to the Peterborough game. The boys know they let themselves, the club and our fans down and they also know they are a lot better than that performance.
"Everything that could go wrong did so against Peterborough but that's gone now. There is a strong mentality in our squad and they are looking forward to what will be a tough game at Meadow Lane on Saturday."

INJURY NEWS
"We have our two Welsh lads Gwion Edwards and Joe Walsh back with us. They enjoyed being with the Wales' squad but they were disappointed to miss Crawley Town games as well so they are raring to go for Saturday.
"Josh Simpson has trained today and Izale McLeod is fine after his knee problem on Saturday. It's a little think with his cartilage which causes him a lot of pain but normally settles down after 24 hours.
"We're still without Ryan Dickson and Emmett O'Connor but otherwise it's a full squad."

NOTTS COUNTY
"Shaun Derry was a fantastic competitor as a player and he's moulded his team in the same way. They have got some good players in during the summer and have started the season well. We've always had very close games against County in the past and I don't envisage Saturday being any different."

A LOT TO PLAY FOR
"The next four games are massive for us. We have a big opportunity to start climbing the table and if we can pick up a couple of wins the situation will look a lot healthier. We are only four points off the play-offs and that gap can close very quickly with a couple of good results."

Hear from John Gregory on our video preview on Friday.
