TEAM NEWS
Ryan Dickson (knee) and Emmett O'Connor (hamstring) are both sidelined by injury. Reds are otherwise at full strength.
Midfielder Anthony Grant and defender George Ray are both suspended and miss out for Crewe. They also have injury doubts over Chris Atkinson, Matt Tootle, Brad Inman, Jamie Ness, Liam Noble and Alan Tait.
VIEW FROM INSIDE THE CAMP
John Gregory: "Crewe didn't start the season too well but then they won three in a row which is very hard to do for any team in this division. They have a decent record here as well but we see this is as a big opportunity to build on a couple of good results if we apply ourselves as we know I can."
Steve Davis (Crewe boss, pictured): "They have had a big change of personnel down there and are trying to gel the group of players together but it's always a tough place to go."
WE’VE MET BEFORE?
There have been six previous meetings and Reds have won one of them. In 2011-12 we drew 1-1 in both games while the following season it finished 2-0 to the Alex at Gresty Road while goals from Paul Hayes and Jamie Proctor sealed a 2-0 Reds' win in the return. Last season we lost 1-0 at Crewe and 2-1 at home, when Proctor was again on target for us.
