Defender says Reds are confident of getting a result at Deepdale

Mat Sadler says the squad are confident of getting another positive result when we take on Preston North End at Deepdale today.

Reds have picked up four points from their last two games and battled out a gritty goalless draw on the road at Doncaster on Tuesday night.

It was also the second clean sheet in a row and Mat, who is on loan from Rotherham, says it was important to get back to basics in the last two games following the heavy home defeat to Rochdale a fortnight ago.

"Clean sheets are what defenders and managers love because they can give you a foundation or foothold in the game," he said.

"I thought we looked very solid in the last two games. Joe Walsh coming back has obviously helped and I'm pleased with the part I have played as well. If we can build that platform again at Preston and make ourselves hard to beat hopefully we can get a goal or two at the other end.

"The manager has talked about getting that balance right between defending well and being a threat at the other end of the pitch.

"But we have done well there in the past. I remember when we won 2-0 a couple of years ago when nobody fancied us to get a result and even last season we were a bit unlucky to lose 1-0. It's a fabulous place to play football.

"We're looking forward to going there, doing our jobs well and hopefully getting another good result."
