Reds sign Marvin Elliott

18 September 2014

Experienced midfielder joins Crawley Town

The Reds are delighted to confirm that midfielder Marvin Elliott has signed for the club, initially on a month-to-month basis.

The 30-year-old Londoner has been training with the club for a week after he was released by Bristol City at the end of last season. During the summer he had a trial with Yeovil Town, but was not offered a contract.

Marvin came through Millwall’s Academy to make 164 appearances for the Lions, and played in the 2004 FA Cup final against Manchester United.

He moved to Ashton Gate in 2007 and went on to play 262 games for the Robins including 30 last season and score 25 goals.

Manager John Gregory said: “Marvin is hugely experienced at both Championship and League One level and that was a big factor in our decision to sign him.

“He has still got lots to offer and he has the opportunity to play a big part for us this season. We are going to take it month by month at the moment but if he impresses and does as well as I know he can then he could become a very important member of our squad.

"He has had other offers and we’re delighted he’s come to Crawley. He will be in the squad for Saturday's game at Preston."

Marvin will wear shirt no.33.
