Josh: You can make the difference

Midfielder's appeal to Reds' fan ahead of Sunday's big game

Longest-serving player Josh Simpson wants the Checkatrade.com Stadium to be as sea of red on Sunday for the crucial final game of the season against Coventry City.

Victory over the Sky Blues would go a long way towards securing League One status for a fourth season and Josh says our fans can play their part.

He said: “I have been here for some great occasions during my time at the club. Derby in the FA Cup just after I joined, Wolves last season, Bristol City in the FA Cup and so many others. When we get the atmosphere going in our stadium the noise levels really do make such a difference to us players.

“In the last home game against Notts County our fans made so much noise. It was my first game for a while and I couldn’t believe how good the atmosphere was.

“We know Coventry will be well supported on Sunday but we’re at home, this is our ground and we will be ready to go to try and get the victory we need.

“If as many of our fans can wear something red on Sunday – a shirt, scarf, anything – it will really help. Us players would love to play in front of a big Crawley crowd on Sunday because we know that the support of our fans can make all the difference.”

Remember, you can send a Good Luck message to Dean Saunders and the players ahead of Sunday.

These will be displayed on the dressing room before the game and will hopefully help to inspire the lads.
