Fowler joins Reds

30 January 2015

Midfielder joins on 93 day loan from Nuneaton

Dean Saunders has today added to the squad by signing 31-year-old midfielder Lee Fowler on an emergency 93-day loan.

Dean worked with Lee at two of his previous clubs, Wrexham and Doncaster Rovers, and has brought him to Crawley on loan from Conference side Nuneaton.

He becomes our fifth loan signing. Dean Morgan’s transfer from Woking has been made permanent and Dean has signed a contract with the club until the end of the season.

In a nomadic career which started in 2000 at Coventry City, Lee has played for a host of clubs including Huddersfield, Burton Albion, Fleetwood and Newport County. He has made more

than 300 professional appearances.

He joined Nuneaton in August and has made 23 appearances this season, scoring three goals.

Dean said: “I have worked with Lee before and I know his qualities. He is the sort of player who can make us tick in midfield.

“This is a good opportunity for him to prove his ability at League One level. He’s a bit like Dean Morgan in that regard and I believe he can make a big contribution between now and the end of the season.”

Lee has been signed in time to be in the squad for Saturday’s game against Preston North End and will have squad no. 16.
