Manager Mark Yates reflects on satisfying start to pre-season

Manager Mark Yates was delighted with Reds' first run out of pre-season after they ran out 4-0 winners at Ryman League Burgess Hill.

Goals from trialist Roarie Deacon, Shamir Fenelon and Izale McLeod, with a second-half double, ensured a winning start to the Yates' era.

Mark said: "I'm really pleased with a lot of what we did. There was a good intensity to our play, the trialists all worked very hard to impress and it was a very good workout.

"We have worked very hard in the first two weeks of pre-season and the boys were looking forward to the run-out. It was a very good 90 minutes with a lot of positives.

"We scored some great goals after getting a really strong start with an early goal and went from there.

"I'm sure the fans who came down enjoyed it and we're now looking forward to a big test at home to Fulham on Saturday."
