Fewer miles on the road in League Two
Reds fans face more than 1,209 miles less on the road next season following their team in League Two.
The total mileage for the return journeys to our 23 rivals is 6,836 compared to 8,045. The average round trip has gone down from 349 miles to 297.
Although there are still four trips of more than 500 miles, including a whopping 690 to and back from Carlisle United, there are ten journeys of less than 200 miles.
Last season we had ten away games which were more than 400 miles round trip. Next season it will be just five.
Last season the squad stayed overnight before 18 games, next season it will be 12.
Chief Executive Michael Dunford said: “Of course we didn’t want to get relegated but one positive for League Two is that it is much more southern-based. Having six fewer overnight stays represents a significant financial saving for the club.”
Next season's fixtures will be released at 9am on Wednesday, June 17.
