Sky Bet odds for the forthcoming League 2 campaign include 20/1 on Reds to win the title
Sky Bet have named Portsmouth as front-runners for promotion to Sky Bet League 1 in the 2015/16 season.
The fan-owned club have installed former Chesterfield boss Paul Cook as their new first-team manager and look to be in a great position for a title challenge in Sky Bet League 2.
They’re 9/2 to lift the Sky Bet League 2 trophy and 10/11 to be promoted.
Oxford United are second favourites for the title and will be hoping to avoid the slow start that cost them during the last term.
The Us are 10/11 to be promoted and 9/1 joint favourites with Portsmouth to be top on September 1st.
They welcome Crawley to the Kassam Stadium on opening day and are odds on favourites at 5/6 to get their campaign off to a winning start. Mark Yates’ Reds can be backed at 11/4, the same odds as the draw which was the outcome of our last visit to Oxford in January 2012.
Leyton Orient were relegated from Sky Bet League 1 last season, but are 9/4 to bounce straight back.
They host newly-promoted Barnet on the opening day and are 10/11 favourites to win, while Barnet can be backed at 11/4.
Reds can be backed at 9/2 for promotion and 20/1 to go up as champions. Our odds for a top-seven finish and play-off place are 11/5.
Bristol Rovers – who won the Conference Play-Offs on penalties at Wembley in May – are a 7/2 shot to gain promotion again and can be backed at 14/1 to do it via the Play-Offs again.
Their first game is at home to Northampton Town, and they are 6/5 favourites, with The Cobblers at 2/1.
Of the teams who may find themselves at the wrong end of the table, Sky Bet make Accrington Stanley (1/5), Newport County and Dagenham & Redbridge (both 1/8) the least likely to stay up next May.
Dagenham and Newport both face difficult away fixtures first up, with Newport 13/5 to overcome Cambridge United and the Daggers 4/1 to beat highly-rated Pompey.
Newly promoted side Barnet – who won the Conference last term - are 1/40 to avoid relegation in their first season in Sky Bet League 2.
