Boss delighted with new arrivals as he works hard on adding further to the Crawley Town squad

Manager Mark Yates is pleased with his work to date in strengthening the squad.

And he is confident “a few more things will come together” in the next few days as he continues to strengthen the squad ahead of the big kick off in League Two at Oxford United on August 8.

The players report back for the start of pre-season training on July 1 and among their number will be Simon Walton,Joe McNerney and Luke Rooney, who have all completed their moves in the last few days.

Mark said: “There is a lot of spadework going on behind the scenes and we’re hoping a few more things will come together in the coming few days.

“I think we have added some really good, hungry players to the squad. They are all here for the right reasons, because they want to be successful and they want to be part of

an environment which they enjoy being part of every day.

“Simon Walton has got that experience of this level, Joe McNerney is desperate to make the step up into League football and Luke is a player I have always liked. He’s always had ability but last season I thought he added effort and desire to his game.

"They are also versatile players who can play in different positions and that is another reason why we have brought them to the football club.

“Jimmy Dack and I are working extremely hard at the moment to add to the group while we plan the start of pre-season. It’s always an exciting time for everyone at a football club when the players report back and July 1 has been in my calendar since the day I arrived; I can’t wait to start work with this squad.”
