Dickson: 11 cup finals left

9 March 2015

Defender spells out what's needed to climb out of trouble

Defender Ryan Dickson admits Saturday’s 2-1 loss to League One leaders Bristol City was hard to take.

Anthony Wordsworth’s third goal since he joined the club on loan was in vain as Luke Ayling scored a late winner for the second time this season against Reds.

Ryan, who produced his usual committed performance in a more advanced role on the left, said: “I didn’t think we played badly but we have switched off at two set pieces and good sides

will punish you when you do that.

“I thought that was the best we’ve played under the new gaffer Dean Saunders but we’ve got to move on because we’ve got 11 cup finals left, starting at Colchester on Saturday.

“Nearly all our remaining games are against sides in and around us at the bottom end of the table so it’s up us to make the most of it and start picking up points, hopefully starting this Saturday.”
