Interim Manager with his thoughts ahead of Saturday's game

On a critical week coming up….

We’ve got a big game on Saturday at Colchester. Nothing will be decided but if we could go there and get three points it would be huge and I’m sure they are thinking the same.

We then go to Port Vale, who are one of the few teams in the current top 12 we have left to play, and then it’s another important game at home to Orient.

A lot of the other teams in the bottom of the table are playing each other in the next week or so. We’ll all be looking to drag other teams into it.

If we can win a couple in a row and another side above us don’t pick up anything from their next two games that’s a six-point swing.

With 11 games to go there is still so much more to play for. If things go our way we could be looking down the table, not up, after Orient.

On the latest injury news…

We still haven’t got Josh Simpson, Conor Henderson or Dean Leacock. Lanre Oyebanjo is close but whether he’ll be ready by Saturday is touch and go.

Marvin (Elliott) is fit though and he will bring us a lot in terms of his experience.

He was playing really well before he picked up the injury and it’s going to be good to have him back.

On the importance of Saturday’s game….

It’s probably the biggest since I came to the club. Everyone knows the importance of it.

We’ve played quite well in our recent games against some top sides and not got what we deserved.

If one or two things go our way we can definitely get a result up there on Saturday but it’s going to be tough.

They have had some good results if you look at their record, including beating Bristol City just a few weeks ago.

They are at home and will be looking at this and Yeovil, whom they play on Tuesday, as two huge games that if they win will get them well up the table.

On away support on Saturday….

It looks like we will have a good crowd with us on Saturday and that’s important.

Away from home recently, especially at Swindon, they made a massive difference.

I know they will be right behind the lads and we will all be working our socks off on Saturday to get them a good result.
