Reds beaten in friendly

3 November 2015

Crawley go down 4-2 to Portsmouth

Reds lost 4-2 to a strong Portsmouth XI in a friendly played at the Hampshire club's training ground on Tuesday.

Christian Scales, who played in central defence, put Crawley ahead and Gavin Tomlin (pictured) also scored to make it 2-2 while ex-Crawley striker Matt Tubbs was among those on target for the hosts.

Manager Mark Yates said: "This game, last week's at Wimbledon and the Sussex Senior Cup tie next Tuesday are a good opportunity for the lads not in the team at the moment to impress and get match fitness under their belt. We played well today. They had a strong side but we did well."

Team: Preston; Bawling, McNerney (sub: Trialist), Scales, Trialist; Deacon, Rooney, Henderson, Jenkins; Tomlin; Barnard.
