Manager Mark Yates on the latest news ahead of Yeovil game

There is some good news on the injury front for Reds, ahead of Saturday’s game against Yeovil at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Manager Mark Yates revealed this morning that defender Joe McNerney, who missed last Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Mansfield, is back in training and should be available for selection.

Meanwhile, Gavin Tomlin, who had abductor surgery in the summer, has also returned to training with the rest of the squad although it will be another two weeks before he will be ready to play.

Mark said: “It’s been good to see Gavin back with the group. He’s going to be a big part of our plans when he’s fit. He’s shown some great skill in training this week and he is desperate to be back out there for us.”

Lanre Oyebanjo has spent time at St Georges Park this week as he continues his rehabilitation following summer knee surgery. “That was all part of the plan for Banj,” added Mark. “We’re hoping he will be back with the main group soon.”

Matt Harrold, who came off in the first half against Mansfield, has a slight hamstring strain and a decision on his availability to face Yeovil will be made nearer to kick off time.
