Defender out in front in Dave Haining Award race

Defender Joe McNerney is making the early running in the annual Dave Haining Award for the most man of the match nominations.

After each game we ask you to vote for your top three players by voting on the website or Reds Wall.

Three points go to the man of the match, two for second place and one for third.

So far Joe has picked up eight points and is two clear of Luke Rooney, who was man of the match in the first two games against Oxford and Peterborough.

The points awarded so far are:

Joe McNerney 8

Luke Rooney 6

Gwion Edwards 5

Liam Donnelly, Sonny Bradley, Roarie Deacon, Christian Scales 3

Matt Harrold, Simon Walton 2

Jimmy Smith 1

The award is in memory of Dave Haining, who served the club for more than 40 years as player, coach, manager and secretary.
