TEAM NEWS

Liam McAlinden is also out because of hamstring trouble but could be fit in 2-3 weeks. Jimmy Smith, out since January 2, is back in the squad after recovering from a broken foot and Lanre Oyebanjo should also be available.

Joe Skarz and Ryan Taylor miss out for Oxford because of groin injuries.

THE FORM GUIDE

Reds have lost four of their last ten games. Saturday's loss to Bristol Rovers was their second in seven matches.

Second-placed Oxford have a formidable away league record and are unbeaten on their travels in their last ten League 2 matches.

VIEW FROM THE BOSS

Mark Yates – "We should have one or two more players available that will make us stronger. This is a game we should relish against one of the best sides in the league and is definitely one we feel we can get something from. Oxford have been pretty consistent all season but it's up to us at home to impose ourselves and make sure we win our individual battles."

Michael Appleton - "We don't lose two games in a row very often and I am expecting the players to bounce back from (the JPT final) defeat on Sunday. The next six games are ten times more important for us than Wembley was."

WE’VE MET BEFORE?

This will be the fourth League meeting against Oxford and Reds have yet to lose one with a 4-1 win here in November 2011 and to draws, both 1-1, at the Kassam in January 2012 and on the opening day of this season.
